Radiology Department
The Radiology Department of Kalavryta Hospital is equipped with essential imaging systems to meet the needs of the local population. The unit includes a remote-controlled X-ray system, a standard radiography unit (and an analog film processor), and a portable digital radiography allowing the performance of routine X-ray examinations for both emergency and scheduled cases.
Although the department does not currently possess advanced imaging equipment such as a CT scanner, it serves as a key first-line diagnostic center for the community, providing immediate support in urgent cases and referring patients for more specialized imaging when necessary.
The clinics operate every morning on weekdays.

The Siemens Accord advanced portable digital radiography (DR) system is designed for bedside imaging in the Emergency Department and Internal Medicine wards, enabling fast, high-quality X-ray examinations for patients who cannot be transported. It offers exceptional flexibility, seamless integration with hospital information systems, and advanced features that enhance workflow efficiency and hygiene—comparable to other high-end mobile units from Siemens.
The system uses digital detectors for instant image acquisition and processing, eliminating the need for film and darkroom development.
The Stratos DR bone densitometer is an imaging system used to measure bone mineral density (BMD) and assess fracture risk. It employs 2D Fan Beam Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA/DEXA) technology to provide high-resolution images.
It can perform examinations at various anatomical sites—including the hip, spine, and forearm—and also offers full-body composition analysis (fat mass, lean mass, and bone mass)
The Fujifilm FDR Smart X is a modern digital radiography system designed for fast and high-quality X-ray imaging. It features a flat-panel detector and an adjustable patient table, enabling efficient examinations with reduced radiation dose and improved workflow in clinical environments.
